Keywords
From Microsoft Microsoft in
conjunction with Realnames Inc. recently launched internet
keywords. The principle
is simple, instead of typing a long domain address to get to a site such
as http://www.indigoskynet.com, in any Internet Explorer
browser you can just type' harlequin uk ' and go straight
there
to see if your chosen MSN keyword/s
are
available.
Initially they were brought out to make getting to
websites ultimately easier, but an added advantage is that if you can get
a good Keyword, you also get no 1 listing on MSN for that word, for
example: Click here and another
window will open. Type into the address bar 'picnic backpacks', ( the same
way as harlequin uk above), with a space in between, and without the
little quotation marks. You should go
straight to a website called www.emporiumuk.com
If you then Click Here you will go to Microsofts UK website and
search engine. When there, type into the search bar 'picnic backpacks'
as if you were a surfer looking for information or to buy a picnic
backpack, (all the rage so we gather!) and the Keyword picnic backpacks
should come up no 1, again going direct to the Emporium UK
website.
One other way is if you
actually click the 'search' icon at the top of your browser, and type
picnic backpacks, again the built in search engine for Internet Explorer
goes straight to MSN's search engine and returns www.emporiumuk.com as the no.1
choice.
When you tie this fact in
with the fact that a lot of smaller Search Engines use MSN for its
results,( even the some of the bigger ones will query MSN as well), a well
chosen keyword could bring a lot of traffic to your site. The price
for these at the moment is £99.99 (+vat) per
year, with the cost expected to fall slightly in the second and subsequent
years.

chosen MSN keyword/s are available.
